Almost certainly the finest piece of glassware I have ever encountered ! Discovered whilst renovating a property in N. Essex, along with some of my other listings this week.

Much as I may enthuse over this cut glass early Victorian candleabrum or centrepiece, I am sure my photo's will capture it's magical charm better than I am able to describe. It stands 18" tall to the tip of the central spire and the solid cut glass arms span 11". Condition for a cut glass item now approx. 150 years old is exceptional, the only damage being small nibbles to a couple of hanging prismatic lustres. These have been left entirely as found and their shapes do have some variations, whether this is by design or not, I guess we will never know but as can be seen they display superbly.

The silver collars have been left unpolished and the centrepiece can be seperated into two sections by removing the bulbous cut glass base. I have not attempted to remove either of the candle holders but these have similar joints and are doubtless removeable if required.

All in all a simply fabulous high victorian centrepiece that remains as useful today as when made and can you imagine the brownie points earned at candlelit suppers over the years !
