A very pretty set of this sought-after illustrated edition of Austen's novels, bound by Bayntun of Bath in a contemporary binding of scarlet half calf with crimson cloth boards. Raised bands with gilt fleurons to spine. Gilt spine titles on olive and brown spine labels. Uncut edges. Discrete ink name to free front endpaper of Vol II. Some minor rubbing but essentially very tidy with no tears, splits, or chips to the spines. xxvi, 308 ; vi, 336 ; vi, 396 ; viii, 395 ; viii, 206 ; vi, 216 pages. Occasional foxing spot but otherwise internally very tidy with all plates present in good order. Rear cover of Persuasion with minor mark. A very presentable and finely bound set of this ever popular illustrated edition.
