Description

For sale is this superb Old Charm (Wood brothers ) hi fi cabinet, although we have sold them in the past and people have used them for many other uses . The top lifts and reveals an open section with 2 adjustable shelves. In the lower section there is ample storage space. Lovely piece with the flower carved motif and individual leaded glass panels. In lovely condition so why buy new especially as the nearest equivalent piece would cost over £650. Please study the images as they can describe the items far better than me. This item has some signs of use and we have priced it accordingly A piece such as this exemplifies the undisputable value for money a previously owned or antique piece of furniture can offer . The attention to detail and the quality of the materials and craftsmanship are exceptional– you really would struggle to find quality such as this today and if you did it would be extremely expensive . Our view of the value of antique and older used furniture

I suspect that this set will sell for a small fraction of the price of a new similar item made today , we estimate today a piece like this new would cost over £650 . The methods of manufacture and the materials used in this piece are most probably infinitely better than those used today ( many new items are sourced in the far east using timbers that are “green “ and not well seasoned. Also with a reproduction or antique piece , age will normally have given the piece a great patina that just can not be reproduced. There may be some slight blemishes but these give the piece some character and add to the old distinguished look and just think of the huge savings not to mention how ecologically friendly buying used or antique pieces is – no new trees will be cut down , no power is used to manufacture. I could go on and on but the basic fact is that quality used and antique furniture has never been so cheap .. so you should take advantage now until the rest of the world discover the value in British used furniture

Condition

I would describe this piece as being excellent condition , there are no real marks just a few very minor signs of previous ownership, the piece looks really excellent. I think you would be hard pressed to find a better example . Remember wood is a natural material and as such will have imperfections . Please study the images as they do give a fair representation of the overall condition of the piece. Nearly all of our items are antique or older, previously used items, and as such will inevitably have some minor blemishes. We attempt to be as accurate as possible and will always point out any obvious or noticeable flaws however the years will tell to some extent so please do not expect a BRAND NEW piece. In many cases the aging process will enhance the piece .. this in furniture is called the PATINA.

The cabinet overall max measures 21 ½ ” wide 19“ deep and 44 ½ “ high, the top section is 23” high and has an internal width of 18” and a depth of 16 ½ “ Sizes are approximate so please e mail if any are critical.
