Exquisit French 3 Piece Oak Buffet
Dating from the end of the 19th century, this French Buffet has been very well hand crafted in solid Oak. Enspired by Henri II the base has a pronounced moulded plinth, above which, there are 2 moulded doors with orginal working lock and key. To the inside there is one shelf. The 2 drawers which are carved with a gadrooned mould have their original handles and working lock. To each side of the doors there are 2 turned columns.
The centre section consists of a galleried plate rack and 2 heavily turned posts supporting the top section, which again has a working lock. Both the doors benefit from having their original rolled glass with all the ripples you get in glass of this age. To the inside there are 2 adjustable shelves. This top section is flanked by 2 turned columns which harmanise with the base. To the centre of the top section, above the doors there is a moulded pannel with carved floral motifs to either side.
This lovely Buffet has been given 4 coats of wax polish giving a lovely warm patination that would fit comfortably in any home.
The Bufett measures;
56.5 inches wide
38 inches to work top of base
21.75 inches deep
