Welcome to the "château".....

....brimming with delicious vintage French shabby chic treasures.
~~~***~~~
Dating from the early 1800s this superb antique French painted canvas panel was once incorporated into the carved wooden panelling display in a local chateau.
It has the most wonderful soft muted colours with age and carries a monogram entwined signature within the picture.
Featuring a medieval scene featuring a man standing on steps between two stone pillars and an arch bedecked with grape vines. The base carries a chateau emblem whilst the arch carries acanthus scrolls and brimming cornucopias of fruit and flowers.
The canvas is in wonderful condition with just a few tack holes around the edges where it has been previously attached.
The colours are soft gentle shades of eau de nil, browns, blues and russet .
The canvas measures 3 feet 4" long by 13 and 1/2" wide ( 102 cms x 35cms)
A stunning period piece for framing or just to display as it is. A gorgeous piece for any period interior.
I have one similar canvas from the same chateau location listed in my other items.
