A superb early to mid 19th Century original Old Master drawing - head and shoulders portrait of a young child. It is executed in black and sanguine crayon on oatmeal paper. Although unsigned, it has clearly been done by an extremely competent artist - I suspect it may be French (comments welcome).
Condition is very good. There are one or two minor specks of dirt within the weave of the paper. The reverse is untidy and has some areas of glue staining where the drawing has clearly been previously pasted into an album. The sides are irregularly cut.
