The bellows rail has a double extension which is from 90mm to 290mm, for reproduction ratios (If a f=50mm focal length standard lens is employed) from 0.9:1 to 4.7:1 life size, providing a large extension range whilst closing up to a small, compact unit.

What is included:

1.     Very sound and well built Bellows

The tripod mounting plate on the bottom of the bellows unit has both ¼” and 3/8” threaded mounting holes.  This allows the camera and lens to be balanced on the tripod for suitable stability.  The camera and lens mounting rings are both M42 universal mount. The bellows has a focusing rail that allows the entire setup including the camera and lens to slide backward or forward on the tripod top plate. This makes focusing much easier, especially at high magnifications. 

2.     High quality EXCELLENT condition famous Carl Zeiss Tessar 2.8/50mm Lens

Carefully chosen a standard lens that is well suited for macro use. The lens is in fantastic optical and mechanical conditions and perfect working order. All front and back glasses are clear and clean without any scratches, marks or fungus at all.

3.     Brand new either Nikon or Canon EOS to M42 lens brass adapter(one adaptor only)

This is a solid brass (not aluminum) adaptor that allows a Canon 35mm film or digital camera to be coupled to the bellows. You can also use it directly with any M42 lens (like Carl Zeiss lens) in normal situation if the bellows are not being used. This enables you a broad choice of using high quality but low cost different range lenses.

4.     Easy to follow guide instructions specific to the set-up

This illustrated set of instructions gives a comprehensive guidance to the use of the bellows set-up and is based upon my experience using this and similar set-ups.

It works in Manual focus on all Nikon/EOS Cameras both film and digital, and metering through the lens works perfectly in aperture priority (AV),  manual (M) or Program (P) modes on all EOS bodies. Auto focus is not a proper way when doing macro work as it tends to get in the way by focusing on the wrong part of your subject, always use manual focus for macro which means everything is under YOUR CONTROL but not the machine!
