Private plate H6 EYE included in sale.

1. Condition

 a. The car is in excellent mechanical condition and is complete with a Full Service History; when I purchased the car in 2005 (mileage 43652), and because I thought that I would keep the car for it’s life and be driving abroad,  I had the Subaru dealer carry out the following works at a cost of £1670:

            (i) Completed  ‘liquid’ change (i.e. the equivalent to a 90,000 mile            service);

            (ii) Renew front & rear brake discs & pads;

            (iii) Renew alternator belt & cambelt tensioner;

(I have the invoice showing all these, and sundry other, works)

b. Bodywork is excellent except for the following:

            (i) scratch on front left bumper (see photos);

            (ii) dent in rear onside passenger door (see pictures); and

            (iii) mark on rear offside bumper (see photos)  

I should mention that I have only driven circa 4000 miles in the last 3 years since I purchased the car (only 1200 miles in the past year) and therefore sadly I simply cannot justify keeping the car.

Car History:

Because I was suspicious of the mileage, I tracked down the car’s history before purchase, which is as follows:

1.      The car was originally bought by a wealthy businessman for his wife; the private plate H6 EYE was the original number as the wife’s friend had a chain of opticians and she was ‘looking after’ the plate;

2.      A couple of years later the businessman sold up his business and moved to Australia; the car was given to their son together with the father’s Rolls Royce! The son lived in London and after a couple of years (most of which time the car was unused) traded in both cars to Hunt & Keal Limited – hence their name on the number plates of the Subaru.

3.      Hunt & Keal sold the car (March 2004) to a woman who was moving from London to Sussex; she moved to live in France in Aug 2005 when I purchased the car from her.  

4.      I have a copy of the invoice from Hunt & Keal to the woman dated March 04 where the recorded mileage is 38000 miles;

5.      I have been in contact with the businessman (who bought the car for his wife) by e-mail in Australia and have old MOT certs’ and therefore believe the mileage to be absolutely genuine.

6.      I was offered £675 for the private plate in 2006.

7.      The Reg Certificate shows 4 previous owners; these were the lady, her son, the garage and the woman from whom I purchased the car. So in practice have only been 3 owners including me i.e. the first 'family', the woman, & me!
