Book Description:
As a child born into the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints, Elissa Wall grew up accepting sect leader Warren Jeffs' commands as the word of God. Despite that, she retained an independent spirit, a fault which marked her as a person who would need to be brought in line by early marriage. At the age of fourteen she was forced into a loveless, abusive marriage with her first cousin, which eventually led her to escape the confines of the reclusive Utah religious sect and, later, testify against Warren Jeffs in a court of law. "Stolen Innocence" tells the story of her courage.
