• Stocking Parade, Number 2

Published at irregular intervals during the 1960s, the full-sized Stocking Parade focused on pretty women in hosiery. In 1965, Mr. Burtman merged Stocking Parade with his High Heels magazine. This issue lives up to its name, with an assortment of stockings on shapely legs, including RHT, FF, patterned, and fishnets. Pictures show models in garter belts, corsets, and a wide assortment of high-heeled footwear. I chose this issue for ebook publication for the quality and quantity of great legs in stockings.

CONTENTS

The ebook contains every word and picture of the original. Page layouts have been retained to present a close digital replica of the original, full-sized magazine.

Each of the 190 pictures in the original magazine has been placed on its own page in the optimized ebook version. This format fills the monitor screen with wide ebook pages, intended to simulate close-ups of individual pictures and reduce the need for scrolling and zooming. (This is the same presentation format used for the New High Heels 1 ebooks.) Most of the photos have smooth grey tones in this context but a few of the very smallest pictures are a bit grainy. No text.

Photographs and words tell the story of Jackie, a masked thief, who attempts to rob Cindy and Suzanne while they sleep. The ladies wake up, apprehend the intruder and chastise her.

It was clear to the roommates that the best thing to do with the "ungainly" intruder would be to transform her into a glamorous woman. This involves replacing her seamed, fishnet tights with garter belt and patterned hose, applying make-up and brushing her hair. Then the captors dress themselves in sexy outfits that include high-heeled boots.

This digest-sized volume is labeled as "Bizare Foto-Fiction." The last part of the book is called Legs on Parade, and contains photos of models in stockings, high heels and a corset.

The ebook presents the contents of CC&C in an optimized version of 90 pages that includes the original text. It is bundled with Stocking Parade 2 because both books contain pictures of Yolanda Young and Cindy Cole.

PROCESS
I scanned each page with pictures at 600 dpi and later reduced the resolution to 155 dpi. I adjusted the tonality of the photos. These ebooks could be considered a better read than the originals because the monochrome adjustments brighten and enlarge some of the images and disclose details that are obscured by the sometimes dark or excessively contrasty photo printing in the source materials.

The scans were assembled as a book in a publishing program. Then, the file was exported to Acrobat .pdf format. Acrobat files are opened in Acrobat Reader, available without charge for both PC and MAC platforms at adobe.com. You can run an image viewer or video program at the same time you flip through the pages of an ebook in Acrobat Reader. Reader allows zooming and rotation. If you prefer paper pages to desktop images, Acrobat allows you to print .pdf pages.
