This is a magnificent Chippendale style bed, dating to around 1920.
It is beautifully proportioned - the rather stately headboard is 6ft high, and topped with a superbly crafted crest.
The bed is adorned with stunning burr walnut veneers, and though these have bubbled in places, their impact is not lost - this bed will certainly add a little faded grandeur to any stylish bedroom.

You will require a mattress and base size 5ft 6 inches x 6ft 6 inches.
The bed will be delivered in four parts:- headboard, footboard and two siderails, and is very easy to assemble. Assistance will be required to unload this bed safely, as it is very heavy!
As with all antique furniture, this bed is not in 'perfect' condition - it does have a sprinkling of old (and treated!) worm holes, a number of surface scratches commensurate with age, and some feathering in the veneers, but it is strong and sturdy, and will certainly prove a worthy investment.

Our deliveries are now being made by a reputable firm of couriers, who will deliver to your door within 6 weeks, your purchase will be fully insured and treated with utmost care. The delivery fee will need to be made directly to the couriers, they accept cash, credit card or cheque.

We can arrange delivery to the onward courier of your choice - we recommend  - clicking on the logo will take you to their delivery tarif, you will need to make your own arrangements with them. Delivery of up to three items can be made to Abbey antiques depot, or the onward courier of your choice in Southern or central England for our standard delivery rate of £65.

We are also now offering a delivery service within France, this is limited to certain regions - please ask for details before bidding ...

Our next delivery to Aquitaine and Midi-Pyrenees is scheduled for 14 - 16th July, delivery charge will be £65 for up to three items.
Storage
We are happy to store items for up to six months, should you wish to purchase over a period of time
Collection
If you live in France and wish to collect, you are very welcome - we are just outside of Verteuil-sur-Charente, a very pretty village with a stunning Chateau!
Our couriers charge only one delivery fee for items delivered to the same address at the same time, so please take a moment to look at our other items - your second purchase will be delivered FREE!!!
