Appearance / Subject: This is a classic style of Staffordshire pot dog of a seated Spaniel with gilt decoration.
It has a collar, Lock and chain. It is sitting up with its tail down in front of it.
The dog is press moulded.
It has a black nose and mouth over a pink snout and yellow eyes.
EXCELLENT GIFT ITEM!

Manufacture: English – Staffordshire, unmarked and makers unknown.
I would date this dog to circa 1860 (1850 to 1870) in date.
Condition: Excellent / Very Good.
There is a firing crack which runs a little way around the bottom edge of the dog’s tail, where it joins the base. This is unseen except for a tiny part that runs up between the join between the dog’s tail and its foot.
There are no chips, no other cracks and definitely no restoration or major manufacturing flaws.
There is some loss / rubbing to the gilt and a little flaking / loss to the black on his snout.
