Squier Pete Wentz P Bass
When he’s not busy posing for photo shoots Pete Wentz plays bass in Fall Out Boy, arguably one of the biggest bands on the planet in 2007. This is the Pete Wentz signature bass from Squier, a uniquely designed yet affordable model loaded with cool features. Finished in black with an eye catching, 3-ply red shell pick guard, the body features Pete’s own red bat/heart design. A bat design also features at the 12th fret and Pete’s signature is emblazed on the back of the headstock.
Neck & Body
Uniquely, this bass features a slim 9.5” radius C-shaped maple Jazz Bass neck, but on a P-Bass body. This offers the comfort and feel of a Jazz Bass but with the harder, rockier look of the P-Bass.
Electronics
The thunderous tone of this bass is supplied from a Duncan Designed PB-105 split single coiled pickup. Utilising a single volume control, this bass offers simplicity but maximum power.
Now this might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but love him or hate him, Pete Wentz is an icon of the “Emo” scene. This bass is striking to look at, but it’s the feel and sound of it that will really appeal.
The combination of Jazz Bass neck on P-Bass body really does give this model a unique selling point…and it’s nice to see a signature model that does’nt cost thousands! |
