Seed and bean sprouts are highly nutritious, easy and quick to grow. You can sprout seeds all year round, and they make the perfect addition to salads, stir fries or sandwiches. Sprouts are packed full of vitamins, and minerals.
Lentils are rich in vitamins (A, B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, C, E) and mineral salts (Fe, K).
Lentil sprouts are high in protein (25%) and are rich in enzymes and vitamins. They are highly prized for their nutritional value and flavour and can be used in both salads and soups.
A required amount of the the seeds should be soaked in water overnight. The next day they can be spread out in a suitable container for sprouting such as the Geo 3 Tier sprouter, (also available through us at funkyflora). Keep at room temperature and in good light. Rinse the seeds twice daily until they are completely germinated (which occurs in 3-4 days). They can be eaten immediately or refrigerated for 1 to 2 weeks.
