This product should only be used when constructing a new pond. If you wish to convert your existing Non - Aerated Bottom Drain then we stock an Aerated Dome Assembly which is ideal for this purpose

Product Description

The main purposes of the Alternative Aquatics " Spindrifter " Aerated Bottom Drain are as follows :

1. To transfer water and waste products from the bottom of the pond to a filter system which can remove these waste products

2. To provide oxygen to the pond by the movement of thousands of air bubbles moving from the bottom of the pond to the surface.

The bottom drain comprises of 2 seperate units that work together as 1

The sump
The aerated dome assembly

i) The sump

The sump is manufactured from uPVC pipe. It consists of

a 110mm water outlet socket. To this socket you can solvent weld your 110mm pipe. The pipe transfers the water and waste products from the bottom drain, underneath the pond to a large particle removal filter ( i.e sieve/vortex/settlement chamber or brush chamber)
a 40mm air inlet socket. To this socket you can solvent weld your 40mm pipe. Down this pipe you can run your reinforced hose/airline which connects to the aerated dome part of this bottom drain.

The sump will have a second flange attached to it by means of 12 self tapping screws to help affix it to the liner of the pond.

ii) The Aerated Dome Assembly

This part of the system is to provide the oxygen to the pond. It has attached to it a 10mm ( 3/8" ) hosetail as standard ( we can supply 6mm/4mm airline connection, 1/4" or 1/2" if required - please state ).
