SPANKING GOOD SWISHY RATTAN SCHOOL CANE. APPROX 30" X 10MM

I HAVE BEEN COLLECTING ITEMS SUCH AS THIS FOR OVER 40 YEARS AND HAVE NOW RELUCTANTLY DECIDED TO SELL MUCH OF MY COLLECTION. MANY OF MY ITEMS HAVE BEEN ACQUIRED OVER THE YEARS FROM RETIRED TEACHERS, ANTIQUE FAYRE'S, OLD JUNK SHOPS AND SCHOOL SUPPLIERS. MOST OF THESE SAUCES ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE. SO REAL CANES ETC ARE MUCH SORT AFTER.

THIS CANE IS VERY PLIABLE AND WOULD HAVE BEEN IN FREQUENT USE AT MANY SCHOOLS THROUGHOUT MOST OF THE 20TH CENTURY IN BOTH PRIMARY SCHOOLS AND MANY HOMES. BEING VERY PLIABLE IT WOULD HAVE MADE IT'S PRESENT KNOWN WITHOUT MUCH DAMAGE.

A REMINDER OF PAST GONE DAYS WHEN SUCH AS THESE WERE USED OFTEN BOTH IN SCHOOLS AND HOMES AS A DISCIPLINARY AID.

NOW CONSIGNED TO PART OF EDUCATIONAL HISTORY AND SOLD AS A COLLECTABLE, STAGE PROP, ST TRINIAN NIGHTS OUT, RE-UNIONS AND AS CONVERSATIONAL PIECE.
