A series of fascinating old maps, which shows many towns, villages, landmarks, railroads (railways) and other features and early City Plans, with many streets individually named.

Karl Baedeker was born in Essen, Germany on 11th March 1801. He began publishing his now world famous travel guides in Coblenz (Koblenz) in 1827. He died 10th April 1859. The business was continued through the generations by his family. These Guides contained general maps of each country along with the detailed City plans. The business of publishing travel guides still flourishes to this day.
