Published London circa 1814 by Longman & Co. in "Atlas to Crutwell's Gazeteer"

Dated and credited in the plate as published 1808 but a slightly later printing, watermarked 1814.

An interesting and attractive copper engraved map of South America with a scale of  British Statute Miles and an interesting boundary line through Brazil identified as "The line of demarcation between the Spaniards and the Portuguese  as agreed by Pope Alexander VI in the year 1500".  Original outline hand colouring.

Some light browning around the original centrefold which is much exaggerated in the photographic process, otherwise fine condition. Please scroll right down for close up images.

Approx. 15" x 13" (380mm x 340mm) map area only with good margins beyond.  Printed on robust heavy grade paper, blank verso.
