This is a SONY DCR-DVD201 ntsc DIGITAL CAMCORDER.  It records directly onto a dvd and has an LCD screen.  It has a LITHIUM RECHARGEABLE BATTERY that does about 40 minutes filming per charge.  It can be connected to the tv and computer via USB cable.  It has a carl zeiss lens.  It is a great camcorder with many features such as editing etc.  I bought this a couple of years ago in the US for over £300, but did not come with software.  It is available on the Sony website.  Should serve you well.
