WARNING: Watch out for these microphones costing less than $10 offered by Chinese or Hong Kong sellers. They are ALL counterfeit and cheap fakes, not made by Sony at all. Many don't work properly for a variety of reasons - poor soldering of components or short circuits, mono only, just one channel works, reversed or crossed channels, sometimes totally dead. They are assembled from poor quality components by unskilled workers in small Chinese workshops. The most common problem is crossed channels - the right side mic records to the left channel and the left side mic to the right channel. Likewise the cables can have crossed channels too. For some incredible reason, the Chinese workers are unable to identify the difference between the left and right channels.
Yes they're cheap, but what's a dud microphone worth? It is also not unusual for those suppliers to ignore customer complaints. You won't suffer any of these problems with my microphones, which are all individually tested together with the cables, prior to dispatch. You may pay a little more for mine, but you can rest assured that ...... I DON'T SELL LEMONS.
This warning is genuine - it's not here just to scare you off other sellers. Don't believe me? Well if you are more concerned with price than quality, then buy the cheap fake, and take a chance on getting one of the 30% or so that work properly, but don't be surprised if it doesn't.
