The Sony CLIE VZ90 has an interesting form-factor. It is a tablet disign. It is larger than the Sony CLIE UX50 and uses a slider design. This is not like the slider on the palmOne Tungsten T3, but rather a set of controls that slides out from underneath the display.

The ground-breaking Sony Clie VZ-90 is a true next-generation PDA. It's the first time an OLED has been used on a PDA.  (OLED stands for organic light emitting diode.  OLEDs are brighter, thinner, faster, lighter, and have higher contrast-ratios than LCDs.  They also use less power.)  In particular, the Sony Clie VZ-90 features a 3.8" OLED featuring 480x320 resolution, wide-viewing angle, and a 1000:1 contrast ratio (not a typo).

The VZ-90's buttons and controls slide out along the horizonal (longer) axis.  The buttons, like the device itself, have a special emphasis portable media usage.  The VZ-90 has integrated stereo speakers, CF slot, memory stick slot, wifi, and IrDA. It measures 109x87x 23mm (4.3 x 3.4 x .86 inches) and weighs only 290g (0.59 pounds).  It has 64mb of RAM, 128mb of flash, and runs Palm OS Japanese.

1. Super Top Emission
As the name implies, Super Top Emission leads light emission from the upper side of the organic material, realizing a brightness level of 150cd per square meter. Also, by optimizing the thickness of the organic layer for each of the color components, RGB, Sony realized multi-interference of reflecting light.  Additionally, with the cavity multi-reflection interference structure which enables emission of colors with high purity, bright and brilliant color gamut comparable to that of CRT is realized

As OLED works with self-luminous organic materials, it has outstanding response time, without producing any afterimage even when displaying moving images (movies). Also with wide viewing angle and contrast ratio as high as 1000:1, high quality images can be realized on mobile products which are used in various occasions.
