Each weighing in at approx 5 kg, and crouching at heights of approx 15”, these stunning creations have been hand-made from solid bronze. Modelled on The Children of the Hydra’s Teeth, the skeletal warriors from the all-time classic adventure film, ‘Jason and the Argonauts’, your BookEnd skeletons are one third of life size, rampant, leering, and looking for trouble! The wooden plinths are 2000 year old pieces of solid English oak. The timber was unearthed during excavations for the extension of the You are getting 2 totally unique Items of exceptional quality. Hand-crafted in a British armoury by a highly-skilled, time-served artisan, your BookEnd skeletons are 2 incredible pieces of art! The entirely manual production of this incredibly intricate pair of skeletons plus their stands took one highly skilled artisan 6 x 10 hour days. Their retail value is £1750 each, £3500 for the pair. The Armoury that made your item also makes swords on personal commission for Royalty and the famous. They custom-make items to order for discerning collectors worldwide and have a very long waiting list. They are suppliers to the Royal Armouries’ National Museum of Arms and Armour. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Manufacturing Process – Bronze Skeletons. The Armoury made a first generation wax master of each skeleton in sections, ie, feet, heels, shoulders and collarbones, pelvis, rib cages, skulls, etc. These bones were then assembled in wax and lost wax cast into solid bronze. Once set, each skeleton was carefully finished by hand, removing any small imperfections in the casting. Each skeleton was then ‘patinated’, ie, blackened to age the bronze and finally waxed. All moulds were destroyed after each skeleton was made. There will only ever be this one pair. CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY Your piece of art comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (CoA), originating from and signed by the artisan who made it. As a legitimate CoA, it contains specific details about the art, such as when and how it was produced, the art's exact title and dimensions and it also includes his or her complete and current contact information. Your collection of skeletons and skulls is totally exclusive; you will not see anything of similar quality elsewhere.
