Description

Forms low growing, dense silvery-grey carpets to. In early summer the plants are smothered in masses of showy snow-white flowers. Widely adapted, Snow-in-Summer will tolerate cold climates as well as desert heat (where it prefers light shade) but it does not thrive in climates that are both hot and humid. As long as drainage is good, poor soil is easily accepted. An excellent choice for a small-scale ground cover, an edging along paths, between stepping stones, or spilling over the sides of large containers.  Snow in summer hardy spreading rock plant   -Hardy perennial garden plant for rockeries and walls - This is a low growing spreading plant which is great for ground cover and trailing over walls and pathways . Looking after Cerastium in the garden Snow in summer and other members of Cerastium are easy to look after, simply cut them back after they have flowers, and divide the plant every three years. If you require more plants then cuttings of Cerastium can be took in the summer.
