Item Description

Every once in a while you stumble across a piece of kit that would have originally been far out of the range of most of our wallets!

Here is such an item. This beautifully engineered antenna was originally intended for large international agencies such as the United Nations, where reliable communications could have meant the difference between life and death.

The SMC broad band dipole requires no ATU so lends itself to ALE (frequency hopping) transmissions or where the extra weight and bulk of an ATU would only hinder.

Frequency coverage is 2.5 – 30Mhz at up to 250W. Kevlar cable and high quality hardware would indicate that this antenna could be erected permanently if desired. The Balun (50R – 800R) would have cost a three figure sum just on its own!
