What is smart repair?
SMART repairs (Small to Medium Area Repair Technology) to vehicles include bumper scuffs, mirror casings, vandal scratches, dents windscreen chips, motorcycle damage and alloy wheels are generally a lot cheaper to the customer than a body shop and take a fraction of the time.
What is the difference between water based and solvent systems?
As of December 31st 2006 it is now illegal to import solvent based paints into the uk due to new EEC rullings.Therefore all suppliers of solvent based paints have stocked up.Some SMART repairers still use this ...but stocks WILL run out soon !!!!
Therefore why not be ahead of your competion and start off with the new technology first.... body shops have after all been using this for years.....and the quality of repair is way ahead of solvents

What is it?
This is a new business and can be located anywhere within the UK. This could be run from a small van such as a Ford transit connect/Fiat doblo size, from a bigger van or even from a static site.
People have even run these systems from the boot of a small hatchback car.
Prevoius trainees vehicles have included Ford fiesta van, Mitsubishi L200, Fiat scudo, Peugeot partner, Transit connect and Vauxhall vivaro to name a few.
The vehicle is not included in the sale price, but a small van can be found for a small outlay on ebay auto trader etc
Why should I buy this?
Most franchises will charge around £35,000 for this level of equipment with alot less stock.Even if you take all the options you will be provided the very basic amount of consumables and probably have to purchase more ( at a keen rate !!) before you leave the training facility just to keep you going.
The franchises will only provide you up to 2 weeks training which can normally be cut down to a week if you remove all the tea breaks and work/instruction carried out on bummy panels.
Then promise you the earth (over £90,000 in the first year !!) and generally take around £200-300 per month or a cut of your profits
PLUS charge you extortionate sums of money for your stock.
Having been there, seen that and been sold the t shirt, (at a cost of course) We decided to set up on our own.

2 day event at a local supermarket or shopping centre
The purpose of this event is to make the public aware of your new business by handing out promotional material and conducting estimates on cars when required.
It is generally thought this type of promotion will generate around
£100's worth of leads.
We will also discuss the finer points of business development , marketing , generating work both through private and motor trade avenues and generally how to maximise your business
Where do the practice vehicles come from?
As this is a unit based course the days practice will be carried out on live cars which will have been sourced for you. Or you could provide your own or a friends or family members car, with some damage.
As all our training packages are 1:1 there will be NO watching of repairs you will be expected to perform all the paintwork repairs, but under supervision of course!!!!
This way the student will get FULL hands on repair training and the instructor will be first on hand to advise and correct...not watching the other 5 students as per some training companies!!!
What happens if I need further training or am slow in picking this up??
At painttechnics we are not naive in believing you will pick this new business up over night and go out on the following Monday morning and paint a brand new £45,000 BMW roof, if you could then everyone would be a smart repairer!!
What we are confident in is our training ability that will give you the required skills to perform Small to Medium Area Repair to a number of vehicles if you follow the training guidelines and briefing .
As your confidence in your own ability and confidence in the paint system grows, so will the amount and extent of the damage you take on.
If after a few weeks you feel you would need another day or a refresher then this can be done at our Lincoln training facility or out on the local Lincoln roads with either our technician or instructor at no extra cost (bar fuel to get to Lincoln !!!).
At the end of the day we realise that after a great expense you may need the reassurance of a shoulder to fall back on and as such will not charge for any additional refresher training.

Originally set up a as a single operator business 9 years ago we have now progressed through our own multi van operation into training services and have sucessfully trained over 25 people in the last year using this exact format into the Smart repair business.
We are also the only known smart repair training company to still operate a local SMART repair business so we can still test all equipment and new products before you get them allowing us to see what will work in 30mph gusting gales and driving rain.
Many of our trainees have had little or no previous experience of vehicle repairs and include van drivers, painters and decorators, shop workers, clerical staff and car valeters.
Why add on car valeting?
Over the last few years we have trained a number of car valeters in to the SMART repair market and as we tend to keep in contact with our previous trainees we gain invaluable feedback about their businesses.
Using their unique knowledge into the markets at the moment we have adjusted our own business to keep pace and are therefore able to offer this unique business .No other SMART repair training company offers this add on business
Why not add on a quick service wash to a SMART repair and make more money per customer.If you added on just £5 to every invoice you were to write in one year you would probably add on £3000 to your bottom line or profits.This is exactly what we are doing at the moment with our own SMART repair van.
At the end of each SMART repair the customer is advised to not touch the vehicle for the next 3 days allowing full curing of the panel.This leaves one nice shiny "bumper corner" and the rest of the car "dirty".Howwever if it had washed prior to the repair,then its one nice shiny car and your business is £15 per job better off meaning you have to work less hours to make more money??
All of the valeting equipment is designed to fit into a small van.The jet wash system is amazingly small and vitually silent,the water tank fits to the floor of the van allowing access to all areas.In short we have designed a business thats small enough to fit into a small to medium sized van ,reducing your costs so you dont need to buy a large long wheel based high top van stuffed full of equipment.Small ,light,and very portable.

All of our chemicals and consumables are 2008 compliant so no need to upgrade in the future.
This is not a cheap put together for eBay kit.....if it doesn’t work we wont supply it to you.
