The Sky Gnome is a portable audio transmitter and receiver that allows users to listen to digital radio or TV channels from their Sky digibox. The advantage of these devices to viewers (even outside the UK) is that it allows you to have the portability of a FM or DAB radio combined with all the UK digital radio stations that can be received on a Sky digibox. You can now listen to your favourite radio (or TV) programmes anywhere inside or outside the house - as long as you stay within 20 - 30 metres of the base transmitter.
The Sky Gnome features stereo sound, a backlit LCD display with full channel and programme information, volume and channel control and the option to preset 10 favourite channels, enabling you to switch to a channel at the touch of a button. This is the main advantage of these devices over a standard FM transmitter that sends a signal to your FM radio - you have the ability to change channels without having to go back to the digibox.
The receiver can be powered from the mains or can be used as a fully portable device; it has a built-in rechargeable battery giving up to eight hours continuous use. The transmitter is a small device, similar in size to the transmitter that connects to the back of your Sky Digibox. All necessary leads and instructions are included.
