These tongs measure about 5 3/4" and weigh about 45 grams. They have the hallmark for London and if I have got it right looking in a book of marks the date is 1835/36 , everything is as the book says except the stamp the U is in is a slightly different shape at the bottom, this one has a rounded edge at the bottom and the one in the book has a little point in the middle of the bottom edge. It looks like there have been some initials on the rounded end (see photo) which have almost worn off. There are also the initials MC in a square stamp on the inside with 2 dots next to it which I assume is the maker. There are 3 arrows bound together stamped on the top, you can see them in the main photo.
