A single GPS Data cable to connect a Garmin eTrex (yellow) Camo, Legend, Mariner, Summit, Venture, Vista, eMap or Geko (201, 301), including H/HC eTrex series types (NOT HCx GPS with a mini B USB port), directly to a PC or Laptop USB port. The GPS should have a flat 4 pin socket on the case top rear or bottom, usually under a rubber cover.

This cable is designed to enable data transfer between the GPS and PC for common Map/Nav applications (Memory Map, Tracklogs, Admiralty, Fugawi, Autoroute, Mapsource etc) without the need for two cables (GPS to serial and a separate USB Converter). This cable will not power the GPS..see our eBay shop for the power and data version of this cable. The cable enables downloads for map/nav software using the USB system and includes the common functions for transfer of waypoints, routes and tracks. Also, real time navigation.

This cable is 4 feet (1.2mtrs) long and has our flat 4 pin e2plug fitted at one end and a standard USB A plug in extended case at the other. Your GPS should have a 4 pin flat socket at the top rear of the GPS. The cable is supplied with software drivers on mini CD that will mount a COM port on the USB system and enables the GPS serial device to communicate with the PC map /nav applications.

This cable is NOT suitable for Garmin C type GPS that have only a USB mini B socket fitted.

The mini CD provides drivers for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista and Windows 7 (uses Vista driver). Both 32 and 64bit drivers available. Included are Linux (Redhat) and Apple Mac drivers. Mac users should identify a GPS application that is reliable on the Mac, because some are not. The files on the mini CD include general setup and specific GPS setup information. If you are unable to use a mini CD the drivers and files can be downloaded from our website. Other Linux Distro's e.g Ubuntu incorporate the driver at deployment/update.

This cable has flash GOLD plated pins on both connectors that prevents corrosion and improves connectivity. A Radio Frequency Interference Filter (RFI) is fitted as standard.
