SILVER TUAREG ZINDER CROSS NECKLACE AFRICAN JEWELLERY

This beautiful handmade silver pendant necklace is crafted by Tuareg silversmiths in Niger, West Africa. Each cross they make is symbolic of one of 21 different oasis towns in Niger and this one represents Zinder. The Tuareg are a semi-nomadic people found throughout the Sahara Desert. The cross is made from pure silver and is intricately engraved with traditional Tuareg patterns, it is approximately 40mm in height. The chain is made from black beads interspersed with cylindrical silver sections called Ismana and culminates in a silver hook and eye clasp, it measures approximately 20.5cm in length.
