SILVER TUAREG BLADE NECKLACE - AFRICAN JEWELLERY

This classic and beautifully hand crafted necklace is made by Tuareg artisans in Niger, West Africa. The Tuareg are a semi-nomadic people who have lived in the Sahara Desert for hundreds of years, their jewellery is etched with traditional symbols deemed to bring good luck and protection to the wearer. The many pendants are made from pure silver, the chain consists of handmade silver and black stone beads, interspersed with cylindrical silver sections called Ismana and culminates in a silver hook and eye clasp. The overall length of the necklace is approximately 40cm; this is an unusual and truly eye-catching piece. The silver used in our jewellery is not the mixture of silver and nickel that is used in a lot of cheaper Tuareg jewellery, it is pure silver which has a clean and bright appearance and obviously a much higher value.
