SILVER BROOCH
WITH BLUE ENAMEL DECORATION IN A DOUBLE DRAGONFLY DESIGN
This superb solid silver double dragonfly brooch is decorated by
dark purple Plique-a-Jour Enamel*  in the wings
 
Two Dragonflys resting on a branch
 
 
*Plique-a-Jouris a technique used by the French enamelists Lalique and
Feuillatre in the 1900's. The French term means 'glimpse of the day'

The enamel (glass) is suspended between wires and is fired without any
backing so that the light can shine through, like a stained glass window.
 
Brooch pin is also silver and has a safety catch fastener.
Rhodium treated to prevent tarnishing.
