The original idea for the detoxing ingredients contained in the Patch came from the study of trees. Scientists were keen to find out how trees had the power to absorb water from the ground and purify it to enable healthy growth. They discovered that pure sap fluid (also called wood vinegar) has the ability to absorb toxins through the skin when applied to acupuncture points on the human body.

The pads are used on the feet according to the Chinese tradition of foot reflexology. Foot reflexology is an ancient treatment whereby different areas on the soles of the feet relate to glands, organs, and other parts of the body. Stimulating the nerve endings in the feet improves energy flow and circulation to problem areas of the body, clearing toxin build-up and enabling elimination of waste. The feet are therefore the best place for effective use of the pads. The ingredients in the pads stimulate the nerve endings, draw out the toxins, and pass their cleansing powers into the body’s system.

The Ingredients and their Effect

 Wood vinegars

Origin ~ Wood vinegar (Pyroligneous acid) is tree sap fluid that has not been condensed, diluted or mixed with any similar substances. Pyroligneous acid is a complete and pure wood vinegar first developed in Japan.

Function ~ Researchers discovered that the tree sap or wood vinegar of some trees possess a detox function. During numerous experiments conducted on the potential value of Pyroligneous acid, it was found that the wood vinegar had great absorbing power, and that the wood vinegar of certain trees was capable of helping absorb toxins released through the skin.

The pads contain wood vinegar from Eucalyptus, Bamboo & Oak tree sap. The dried sap from these trees is believed to absorb toxins through the skin and has detoxing and sterilising properties.

Tourmaline

Origin ~ Tourmaline is a natural mineral found in Brazil

Function ~ Tourmaline emits negative ions and Far Infrared Rays (FIR). It improves circulation, relieves stress, increases mental alertness and strengthens the body’s immune system.

Tourmaline is used in the Patch to stimulate the sole’s reflex points, and the effects are similar to those of a foot reflexology massage.

Agaricus Mushroom

Origin ~ Agaricus mushroom ~ Agaricus blazei Murril ~ is harvested from Brazilian jungles.

Function ~ The Agaricus blazei Murril is rich in polysaccharide compounds, which assist in boosting the immune system. Polysaccharides (glucans) are large, complex branched, chain-like molecules built from many smaller units of sugar molecules. Research has found that the two principal polysaccharide compounds that exist in this mushroom are Beta Glucans.

Beta Glucan is a natural compound that triggers an immune response in the body, which builds a better system of defence against viral, bacterial and parasitic invaders. It enhances macrophage activity ~ macrophages ingest bacteria and cell debris.

Scientists have conducted studies that showed the Agaricus mushroom to be an immune system stimulant, which can fight some forms of cancer by preventing the proliferation of alien cells.

Directions for use

1. Make sure your foot is clean!
2. Apply the patches before going to bed.
3. Use one patch on each foot every night for five nights consecutively.
4. 10 patches are sufficient for the 5 day programme.
5. Remove the large piece of backing from the adhesive sheet.
6. Place the patch onto the centre of the adhesive sheet. The writing on the patch must face down onto the sticky surface, so that the mesh surface will be in contact with your skin.
7. Position a patch onto the sole of your foot.
8. Remove remaining strips of backing from the adhesive sheet and smooth the sheet down for greater adhesion.
9. Wearing socks at night will ensure that the patch is not rubbed off.
10. In the morning, remove the patch and throw it away. Wash your foot if it is sticky.

How will I know if the pad is working?

The pad may feel warm after you have put it on. During the night, the pad will become dark in colour as it absorbs toxins and waste matter from your body. It may also become sticky, depending on the level of toxins present.

• Do not re-use brown pads – they are unable to absorb any more toxins.

How long should I use them?

Wear the pads for at least 8 hours a night for maximum use of the ingredients. The more toxins you have in your body, the darker the pads will be. With continued use, the pads will become lighter. You may detox in a few days, or take longer, depending on the state your body is in! When the pad remains pale, your body is pure!

• After your detox, it is wise to maintain your health by using the pads every 3 months.

What else do I need to know?

• Do not place the pads on skin that is open or sore.
• If the pad causes irritation, discontinue use.
• Do not place the pads over the eye area.
• Women should not use the pads during the first six months of pregnancy.
• It is safe to use detox pads in conjunction with other medications and treatments.
