SHOE / BOOT INK ??? SWIRLY ??? VERY SCARCE ***L@@K****
Eyup yall, here is for auction, my hand dug shoe ink ? boot ? i use the question mark as some belive these are sweet jars, but i have been assured by a collector it is in fact an ink.
it was dug from a pre 1900s victorian tip. i have included pictures from when it was dug, to show authenticity, as i have had it professionally cleaned, due to sickness staining. there is a 5mm stable crack that is down one seam, as shown in the picture. but other than that is screaming mint ! it has a faint pink? purple ? SWIRL at the back of the neck (see 3 rd picture for best capture) like a seagull type y ? i`ll let you decide.
on the sole are two letters R G or is it R C ? and even some slight abrasion scuffs on the ball of the sole where it has been pushed back n forth i imagine on some fine victorian gents desk ?
it is square toed and has 7 dimples to represent lace holes.
This really is a very scarce example and it maybe some time before another comes along.
