This is The Colorist Artwork, Created during The Production of The Actual Comic It Relates To!
Essentially The First Completed Comic Page (and the only one where all the color is painted by hand!)
These pages form the guide for the printers doing colour seperations as to how the final comic will look.
A print is taken from the ink art, this is then sent to the color artist, who uses watercolor paints to
produce a prototype of how the page will appear once printed.   Notes are added either by the colorist
or editor to guide the printers.  These then become the template for the design of the printing plates that
will produce the comic.  This is repeated for each page.  A comic book may have a print run of 100,000
copies or more, but only the first completed issue is painted by hand - this is part of that first issue!

With desktop publishing taking over from traditional methods, these pages are becoming part of a lost tradition!
