Report itemEMERGENCY STROBE/FLASHLIGHT Used and Approved by Emergency Services, Marine Rescue, Fire Rescue & Military The strobe uses a filament halogen bulb for the flashlight and a xenon tube for the strobe. A battery operated strobe light pierces through darkness & can be seen for over 3 miles on the surface so is an essential piece of equipment to attract attention in an emergency and should always be carried when out at sea to instantly mark a location and be seen when it is important. Carrying this strobe light with its aircraft style flashing light makes the rescue by the Helicopter Rescue Service far easier & they advise that divers & boatmen should ALWAYS carry one. The strobe light has a velcro strap which can be used to attach the torch to an anchor line, rescue line etc. The torch can be attatched to the shot line & left there so helping divers to find the shot line when you need to return to it, the strap can also be used to attach the torch to your arm. By turning the outer ring clockwise or anti-clockwise (this can be done with the thickest of gloves) you can activate an internal reed switch to select either strobe or flashlight. The flahlight can be used to read instruments, attract your buddys attention etc. The strobe/ flashlight has been tested to over 100m. The light comes with a red filter for the flashlight to enable you to read maps & work safely at night & also for signaling in an emergency at night.
