SCOTCH VINTAGE TAPE CASSETTE This is a VC-60 recording tape, to fit PHILIPS type N1500, N1502, and N1700 Video Tape Recorders made in the 1970s. These were indeed the first VCRs ever put on the consumer market. The machines cost £750 at a time when an average week's wage was £25! Consequently very few were sold. And the first tape cassettes cost about £20 with only a one-hour running time. The later N1700 series took the same cassette but the running time was increased to 2 hours. See these links: http://www.oldtechnology.net/detailsn1500.html |
