This is a painted and very highly detailed model of the SATURN V Rocket launch (Apollo 11 Space Mission). This is a fantastic model that captures the first few seconds of the rocket lift-off from the launch-pad (with cloud) of the Saturn 5 rocket on July 16th 1969.

First landing on moon. Apollo 11 (SA-506) - with astronauts Neil A. Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Edwin E. Aldrin, Jr., aboard - was launched from Pad A, Launch Complex 39, KSC, at 9:32 a.m. EDT July 16. The activities during earth-orbit checkout, translunar injection, CSM transposition and docking, spacecraft ejection, and translunar coast were similar to those of Apollo 10.
MODEL SERIES DETAILS This is one model from a collection of 9 that were available from Volume 1 of the Royal Museum of Science - Startales collection (released in 2003 and sold-out soon after release in Japan).
These models were a joint project between the model producers KAIYODO and were marketed and sold by TAKARA. Two more volumes of ROYAL MUSEUM of SCIENCE MODELS were issed in 2003 and 2004. These realistic Space Exploration models have proved extremely popular in Japan and were quickly sold-out after their releases.
BOXED MODEL CONTENTS and DETAILS
The packaging includes a full colour collectable space exploration backing photo card, with various factual information in the Japanese language. There is also included a fold-out A4 poster/information sheet with lots of details about theSATURN V Rocket and Apollo 11 space mission (in Japanese), including photographs, factual cartoons, and full diagramatic Assembly Instructions for the model. This is a most impressive Space Exploration model with associated collectable ephemera.

The dimensions of this model and diorama are :-

(Millimetres) The diorama is 100mm high, the launch cloud is 45mm wide and 40mm deep. The rocket is 6mm in diameter. (Inches) The diorama is 4" inches high, the launch cloud 1.75" inches wide and 1.5" inches deep. The rocket is 0.25" inches in diameter.
The model requires minimal assembly, there are three pieces to clip-together - no glue is needed
