The 1997 sovereign is struck in 22 carat gold to the finest Proof quality, it weighs 7.98 grammes,measures 22.05 millimetres in diameter and is legal tender within the United Kingdom.

The obverse bears Raphael Maklouf's elegant portrait of Her Majesty the Queeen.

The reverse bears Benedetto Pistrucci's portrait of St. George slaying the dragon,which was first used in 1817.

The coin is in mint condition and comes complete with the original case and certificate of authenticity as issued by the Royal Mint.
