So what is so different about these shin pads? Firstly it’s a shin protection system in two parts: a breathable under section fits securely around the leg from the top of the calf down to the top of the ankle.
This provides a secure and comfortable base for the shield part of the system to be attached to the shin area. In turn, this provides a comfortable, lightweight system, which can be fitted in a matter of seconds and completely eliminates the need for tape to keep the guard in place. This also provides a more constant area for protection (as it doesn’t move or slide around the leg).
If you are a player at any level of the game, the last thing you want is clumsy fitting shin guards that keep slipping. Whereas, with the S1 system you put them on before the game and just concentrate on your own game!
