S.E.Bogdan AF200M rare RHW salmon reel cw leather case

Genuine Stanley Bogdan handmade reel, the Rolls-Royce of salmon reels. The waiting list for Bogdan reels is around 3 years, if indeed the Bogdans will accept your order at all as they are beginning to wind down production completely and only make a few of the smaller models now. This is the larger of the 2 models made exclusively for Abercrombie & Fitch in New York, the AF200M. All AF reels were produced in this champagne gold colour as opposed to the usual black, and they are very rare. This one is engraved with the serial number 63-34, donoting that it was the 34th reel that he made in 1963. On the foot it is also engraved with the model AF200M. The M denotes the standard Bogdan Multiplier 2:1 ratio. The 200 is similar in size to a No.1, and is one of the largest salmon reels that Stanley made, and will take a modern spey line. I have used this one with a 10 weight WF line, and an 8/9/10 Rio line. It has one of the smoothest actions of all the Bogdans I have owned (8) and is in perfect working order. Both the reel and case are engraved with the initials of the original owner - R.M. It bears some battle scars from 46 years of use as can be seen in the pictures.

It is right hand wind. Diameter is 3&3/4" as per models 1,2 and 300 Nordic, and width is 2" outside, and 1 &1/4" inside. I will include a copy of the original Bogdan spool removal instructions with the reel.

This is a really special and rare reel. A real collector's item. Treat yourself to the very best.
