You are looking at one handcrafted Sterling silver necklace featuring a petite Chandelier drop pendant incorporating a small rare Russian Diopside faceted briolette bead and creamy-white rondelle Freshwater Pearls. These lovely gems are hand-wrapped onto a Taoa Balinese Sterling silver open filigree chandelier connector - giving this pendant a fashionable but classic look. Chain, wire and beads are all Sterling Silver and this necklace has an approximate length of 17" and the pendant has an approximate total drop of 3/4" (2cms).

This lovely necklace is a limited edition. The gorgeous faceted Russian Diopside flat briolette measures around 5mms by 5mms and the lovely cultured Freshwater Pearls are about 4.5mms and have an excellent luster. This would make an ideal gift or a treat for yourself and is of particular interest to any precious gem collectors. Matching earrings are also available.

What's Russian Diopside? Russian (Chrome) Diopside is a gem found in Siberia and is commonly known as the Russian Emerald because it is a gorgeous vibrant green colour. It is extremely rare, and prices are rising steadily as Diopside makes a name for itself. It is quite a soft stone so isn't often available as a bead. For those of you who like to know such things, it is believed to reinvigorate the body and soothe the soul (sounds good to me).

Add that to the fact that I've always been a collector of gemstone rocks/minerals (I still can't walk by a lovely specimen without stopping to admire it) so I knew about all the gorgeous semi-precious gems just waiting to be sourced and made into something unique – put the two passions together and you get a jewellery designer !!

I work exclusively with precious metals and genuine gemstones (precious and semi-precious) and genuine pearls. I source my stones and findings from around the world, using respected and ethical suppliers and also, wherever possible, direct from small companies who actually make their silver or mine/cut their gemstones themselves, for example, my Balinese silver beads actually do come from Bali. I exhibit at UK Craft fairs and Galleries and have been selling direct on eBay since 2000 (please checkout my great feedback profile). Each piece is made with care and an attention to detail you’ll find very hard to beat and I’m always very happy to accept commissions for one-off pieces for that special person/occasion.
