~ Cassis ~

A delicate and lightweight design made with hammered gold filled rings adorned with berry-like clusters of natural Burmese ruby and garnet microfaceted rondelles. There are two types of garnet here ~ fiery red Mozambique garnet and deep plum pink rhodolite. Very elegant and so easy to wear.

All metal used is 14 carat gold filled.

The total length (including earwire) is approximately 35mm and the rings measure 20mm in diameter.

About Gold-Filled & Vermeil Metals

I usually like to use solid gold components wherever possible, but the price of gold is so high at the moment that my more intricate designs would cost hundreds of £££’s!

Gold-Filled

This is not gold-plated! Sometimes referred to as rolled-gold, it is a thin sheet of solid gold bonded with heat and pressure to a base metal core. This layer of gold is hundreds of times thicker than that of gold-plated products. Gold-filled jewellery should last through a lifetime of wear and is a fantastic and affordable alternative to solid gold ~ no-one but you will ever know the difference!

Vermeil

Due to the manufacturing process of gold-filled components, there is a very limited choice available. Not so with vermeil! This is sterling silver which has been heavily electroplated with high carat gold and the range of beads and findings available to designers is fantastic ~ I often use very detailed vermeil beads and chandelier bases in my designs.




All of my jewellery is designed and crafted by me in my North Devon studio. I am an absolute perfectionist as far as my jewellery is concerned and don't hesitate in using detailed close-up photos so you can really see the quality of both the gems and the workmanship.
