Royal Enfield Crusader 250cc Scrambler or Motocrosser. This is about 1959 and is eligable for Pre-60 and Pre-65 classes.
I have built this from scratch. The engine has been completely dismantled and rebuilt and has the later type crankshaft, sports camshaft, big valve sports head. The gearbox is in good condition and the clutch plates are new. It has new points and condenser and the alternator charges ok. New dry cell battery and rectifier. All sprockets are good and the primary and rear chain are new. Valve seats have been recut and new valves ground in. Plug hole has been helicoiled.
The frame is a Crusader frame and it has an Ariel swing arm to get more tyre clearance. The front forks are late conical hub Triumph, machined and fitted inside the Norton legs. The front wheel is REH and the rear is a full width British Hub Company one as fitted to Greeves. Both are alloy and the rear has an alloy rim fitted.
The seat is a Gold Star type base with new foam and newly recovered. The Tank is a new replica steel trials/scrambles 2.5 gal one.
This bike starts easily and runs well. I'm selling it as I have got too many bikes and I enjoy building bikes which are a bit different.
An opportunity to own and ride something which is unusual and has been put together properly
Payment by Cash or cheque (obviously cheque will have to clear before I will let it go ) No Paypal please.
Collection only - it's too big for a 1st class stamp ! Delivery could be arranged within sensible distance.
Thanks for looking and good luck with bidding
