Royal Doulton ‘Pomeroy’ Demitasse Cups & Saucers

Pretty demitasse cups and matching saucers by Royal Doulton decorated in the red 'Pomeroy' pattern. The set consists of three cups and six saucers with the following dimensions and marks :

  • Cups : each is 2 1/8 inches high, 3 ¼ inches at widest across handle, and 2 5/8 inch maximum bowl diameter. Marked on the underside with the Royal Doulton factory mark above ‘Pomeroy’.
  • Saucer Type 1 : Two saucers, each 4 ½ inches wide and 5/8ths tall with lightly scalloped edges. Marked on the base with the red Royal Doulton factory mark above ‘Pomeroy,’ plus the number ‘12’ and green pattern number D5471.
  • Saucer Type 2 : Four saucers, each 4 ½ inches wide and 5/8ths tall with lightly scalloped edges. Marked on the base with the red Royal Doulton factory mark above ‘Pomeroy,’ plus the number ‘11’ and an indistinct green pattern number.

We believe that the pieces date from the mid 1930s and all are in very good condition with minor surface rubs and occasional glaze crazing, but no cracks or chips.
