Rotel RB981 Power Amplifier

You are viewing the auction for my brilliant Rotel RB981.  I will be very sorry to see it go as I have owned it for about 5 years and it has been fantastic in any system I have used it in.  I bought it second hand when it was about 4 months old.

The only reason for parting with it is that I am moving to a much smaller house and I've got to go back down the integrated amp' route again.  If it wasn't for that I certainly wouldn't be looking to sell but would be looking for another one to bridge them!

The amp' can only be described as in 'as new' condition.  I've looked hard but I can't find a mark on it.  As you can imagine it works superbly and has never let me down.  Over the past few years it has only been used for a couple of hours a month.

Good Bits

• Immensely powerful amplifier that can drive just about every speaker known to man to high volumes
• Get yourself another one and increase the power to 360 Watts/RMS/channel!! This is what I was going to do if I was going to keep it.  This was mainly to offer greater dynamics to the music as opposed to volume of sound - one is enough for that!
• In superb, as new condition in its original packaging, together with owner's manual

Bad Bits

• There aren't any really!
• The amp weighs a lot so make sure you have a decent support to place it on
• To get the most from it you will need reasonable seperates to go with it, esp. speakers that can handle the output of this amp without going 'pop'!
• As it is quite heavy the postage is fairly steep so collection is always an option
