We have for sale our Rolls Royce Silver Shadow 11 1978 converted to autogas. We purchased this car 18 months ago as I had always wanted one. We took a bit of a gamble as all the buyers guides say not to touch a car without full service history, but the gamble paid off and with a little work we have the car you see today. Purchased with no tax or MOT and the exhaust in the boot, I got it home and carried out a full inspection (I am a mechanic). Both front floors were welded up, we replaced the down pipes, intermediate boxes, balance pipe and clamps. With this done we could now here the engine, sounded a little lumpy. Spark plugs and oil and filter changed and she is now running like a watch. Rocker covers were tightened down to alleviate the oil leak. She sailed through her first MOT, we enjoyed the car for the next year and it has given us trouble free motoring since. During this time all the wood has been relaquered as it was starting to look tired and I have stripped the central door locking solenoids and returned them to working condition. For the last MOT I replaced the front brake pads (genuine Rolls Royce parts). Within the last few weeks I have fitted a new battery. We have recently added the cherished number which is available by seperate negotiation, otherwise will be removed before collection. The black leather is in excellent condition, no rips or tears. We have treated it twice. The pale blue carpets look slightly tired but the over rugs hide the majority of this although the boot carpet is worn. The car runs and drives beautifully (on petrol and autogas) with a silky smooth gear change. The bright work is in fair condition for a 31 year old car, tyres are all good. If I could pick any faults I would say the shock absorbers are slightly soft and the wheel arches are starting to bubble. This said the car is perfectly useable/presentable. I would have confidence to drive it anywhere (we have toured the Isle of Wight and Cornwall). It really is my pride and joy, genuine reason for sale. She is MOTed and taxed untill April 2010.
