Rolf Harris Painting 90x90" Carra Barra Wirra Canna

This auction is for an original Painting by Rolf Harris (1930..), dated 75 (1975).

Rolf Harris is an Australian expat living in England. He is famous for his songs, TV programs, and paintings. For example, he painted an offical portrait of the Queen to mark her 80th birthday. If you grew up in England in the 1960's and 70's like I did, then you know his name.

It is 90"x90".

Painted on two pieces of plywood. One is 7 1/2' x 4', and the other is 7 1/2' x 3 1/2'. The two pieces are not attached in my pictures, so you can clearly see the line between the two. If you fasten both together, you'll have a hard time seeing the join in the painting.

Signed and dated lower right by the artist.

This painting depicts the Rolf Harris song/lullaby Carra Barra Wirra Canna, with a boat on a lake at night, with a star in the sky.

The words of the song are (do a google search to hear Rolf singing it).

Rolf Harris is known for his big TV paintings, and this is probably one of them.

Its in good condition, with a few minor issues. Two screw holes on the top corners of each piece of plywood where its been errected, likely from when it was painted. There is a bit of dirt in one small area (see pictures). I've not tried to clean it, as I'm not sure what kind of paint he used. There is also one small ding (see pictures). The lower edge has some fraying, and light water staining. Given its size and age, its probably in typical condition.

If you're a Rolf Harris fan, its probably going to be a long time before you get a chance to buy another of his huge paintings for this price.

This item will need to be crated, and sent by internationally by air freight. The exact details will depend on where you are located. If possible, I will arrange for door to door service, probably by DHL. If that option does not exisit in your area, then the back up will be airport to airport, with you being responsible for collecting it at the airport. I'm budgeting about $1000 for delivery. If it costs a bit more, thats my problem. If you live nearby, or can pick up in person, then let me know because I can lower the price accordingly.
