Roland MPU-101 Midi-CV Interface Up for auction is this oldskool Roland Midi-CV interface. I have never used it - it is part of a collection of equipment given to me to either use or move on. I don't have any CV based analogue synths, so can't test it and have no use for it. However it powers on and I have no reason to believe there would be anything wrong with it. Its built like a tank, solid metal casing and both pots and all of the buttons are solid and press as would be expected. Feel free to bring your CV synth along if you choose to collect it from me and test it. The interface comes on its own, no box or manual, although the manual seems very easy to find online to download. Collection would be preferred, but the item can be boxed and posted out - it will be packaged up properly with lots of packing foam in a solid box so no worries about damage in the post! Happy bidding, and feel free to ask me any questions about it, i'll answer the best I can. Cheers! Info copied from a website about the MPU-101... The MPU-101 is unique in that it converts MIDI data into analog signals. When the MPU-101 is connected to a MIDI sending unit, a conventional 1 -volt/octave Cv/gate synthesizer such as the SH-1O1, SH-2, or System-100M can be controlled by MIDI data. Other voltage-controlled devices can also be controlled. For example, you can automatically synchronize lighting equipment with your performance. The gate signals can also be used as trigger signals to control a percussion sound source like the Boss PC-2 or HC-2, a sampling unit such as the Boss DSD-2, or a digital delay, for example the Boss DE-200. The MPU-101 can expand your MIDI system's potential just as much as your imagination allows. The MPU-101 has four output channels, each with pitch control voltage, gate signal, and dynamics control signal outputs. Up to four CV synthesizers can be controlled by MIDI data. ln addition to the key information, other MIDI data including velocity. bender modulation, after touch, and volume information is converted into analog signals. Complicated MIDI data can completely be converted. The MIDI channel can be assigned to one of 1 to 16. Five operation modes are provided for a variety of applications. 1. Mono Mode: Four CV synthesizers can be controlled by MIDI data transmitted on four different MIDI channels. The bass, melody, and obbligato parts of a composition played by different CV synthesizers can be controlled by MIDI data transmitted on different channels. 2. 2-Voice Mode: MIDI data for up to two notes is converted into CV/gate signals and comes through outputs 1 and 2. 3. 3-Voice Mode: MIDI data for up to three notes is converted into CV/gate signals and comes through outputs 1, 2, and 3. 4. 4-Voice Mode: MIDI data for up to four notes is converted into CV/gate signals and comes through outputs 1, 2, 3, and 4. 5. Special Mode: MIDI data for the highest note, the lowest note. and the latest note is converted and comes through different outputs. |
