| | Album notes | Recording information: Excello Recording, Brooklyn, New York (2006).The once straight-up raucous Brooklyn, New York, trio the Rogers Sisters hit upon a seamless blend of punk swagger and new wave austerity for their third full-length, 2006's THE INVISIBLE DECK. All the key elements are there--the fierce backbeat, angular fuzzed-out guitars, strategically placed synth lines, and multi-layered guy/girl choruses--on songs like "The Light" and "Why Won't You." And while the Rogers Sisters might not be making the most inventive music around, there's enough variety (the dark, lurching "Your Littlest World") and vitality (the Feelies-esque "The Clock") happening to keep things interesting. It's on "You Undecided," however, that the Rogers Sisters really come up with something special, nailing every component necessary to make what could be the perfect retro-rock song for the year 2006.
