Description:
A fine portrait, pastel on artist's paper, signed "Robin West", and dated 1934 and framed - approx 21 X 16 inches (53.34 X 40.64cm).

This is a fine English School pastel dating from the 1930 - 40 period.
The portrait depicts a fine classic pre World War II contemporary pastel portrait. The study has great youth and vibrancy, having a dark shaded ground, her jersey lightly sketched above which is the face of this pretty girl, having a wonderful red rosy complexion and sparkling blue eyes. Her short mousey brown hair is swept from her face beneath a hairband. A wonderful and attractive portrait from the mid 20th Century.
The work is signed "Robin West" lower right.

The pastel is dated 1934.
Framing:
Contemporary plain moulded Pine. Finish: Natural.
Condition:
There are some water marks to the picture to the right and to the bottom of the painting. These do not detract too much from this delightful picture, which would probably benefit from re-framing and re-mounting.
